Follow these easy steps below to set up Identities in Outlook Express. The Identity feature is only available in Outlook Express 5 and Higher.

1.
First locate the program Outlook Express. The icon usually looks like a picture of a white envelope with a blue arrow wrapped around it. It is either located on your desktop, next to your start button, or if you click on
Start and go to Programs, it is usually listed near the bottom of the menu. Open Outlook Express.

2. Once Outlook Express is opened, to setup another identity you need to first click on FILE in the top lefthand corner of Outlook Express. Then click on Identities near the bottom. Click on Add New Identity. On the next screen, type your name in the box which asks for your name. Put a check in the box below if you want a password for your account on your computer (this is seperate from your GlobalNet password). If you are the only user of your computer, you may not want a password. Click on OK when you are ready.

3. It will then ask you "Do you want to switch to your identity now?" Click on Yes.

4. When Outlook Express opens up to the new identity, The Internet Connection Wizard (Setting up Internet Mail) screen should appear. You want to select the Top option "Create a New Internet Mail Account" and then click on Next.

5. Enter your full name in the Display name field.  Click on Next.

6. Enter your GlobalNet E-mail address all in lowercase letters, no spaces, and no punctuation.  This should be your username@surfglobal.net.  Click on Next.

7. At the top you should have
POP3 selected for your incoming mail server.  Go down to the next line and enter mail.surfglobal.net for the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server.  Go down to the next line and enter mail.surfglobal.net for the Outgoing mail(SMTP) server.  Click on Next.

8. Enter your GlobalNet user name in the
Account name field and your password in the Password field.  Click on Next.

9. Click on
Finish. Congratulations you are all set to
receive email via Outlook Express.

10. Each time when you are completed using your email account, you need to click on FILE up top, And at the bottom click on "Log Off Identity". You need to do this each time, otherwise the next time when you open the program, it will open up to the last persons email account.
